glock 43x issues

Glock 43x Issues - Glock introduced two exciting and well-designed pistols at the Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade (SHOT) 2019. Glock, as much as any manufacturer, understands that there is a very important part of the concealed carry market.

History bears witness that Glock service pistols are known worldwide for their reliability and combat capability. The Glock 17, Glock 19 and other models are widely respected.

In concealed carry, the search was on for viable improvements to both the Glock 19 and Glock 43.

The Glock G43x Was Good Enough For A General

The Glock 19 is a great piece and one of the best balanced pistols in the world. The Glock 19, and its close variants, the Glock 19X and Glock 45, offer great reliability control and gun accuracy with a good supply of ammunition. The Glock 43 is a slim 9mm that offers true concealment with 9mm power, but with limited capacity.

Glock made the Glock 48 9mm. This is what we can call a long slide Glock 43, which has a longer grip than the G43, which has a 10 round magazine.

The Glock 48 is also thinner than the Glock 19. The Glock 43X is a standard Glock 43 slide, but has a longer grip that holds a 10-round magazine. Each has its own place.

The slide is not stainless steel. But a Silver NPVD coated product. Some like the look, some like an all black Glock. The Glock 43X features a forward cocking serration. I'm glad I waited until Glock 43X pistols with night sights became available, as my pistol has a nice set of self-illuminated iron sights with an orange front dot around the radioactive ampoule .

Glock 43x Review: Compact King?

The pistol fits the Glock 43 holster. The Glock 48 required manufacturers to work on a longer slide that is thinner than the Glock 19. The Glock 43X puts up some of the velocity in the larger Glock 48 and Glock 19 barrels, but then it's smaller and easier to conceal.

The Glock 43 fits in some pockets. The 43X is unlikely to fit in pockets other than large crew types. There are no grip inserts and no light rail. As a former police officer, I will say that the Glock 48 is a fine off-duty weapon. As logical choices, the Glock 43 is a good backup and the 43X is a gun for those who like the 43 but want to shoot it a little more accurately.

I took the Glock to the range with a good mix of ammo to test its reliability and practical shooting. I drew from a Tuck-It Complete Concealment Kydex inside the waistband holster. This company is one of the few to do work for the Glock 48. This holster accepts the smallest Glock 43X.

When running quick shows from concealed carry, the Glock 43X is fast, very fast, and clears the holster quickly. With the short frame Glock 43, it is more difficult to quickly confirm a good firing grip. The Glock 43X offers better grip. However, the shorter slide clears the holster just as quickly as the Glock 43.

Glock 43x Optimized: Customizing The G43x

I dried the pistol extensively before heading to the range, and also practiced draws. The result was good speed and a quick hit on target. I drew and fired man-sized targets at 5, 7 and 10 yards. The gun is quick on target and tracks well.

The greater grip on the Standard 43 is an advantage during shooting practice. No, it doesn't match the speed and control of the Glock 19, but it is a fine gun.

The primary loads used during early testing were Hornady 124-grain HAP practice bullets and handloads using WW 231 powder sufficient for 1,050 fps. I also ran a general-purpose handload using Hornady 124-grain XTP at 1,100 fps. Titgruppe powder provided the fuel for this charge. I used factory Hornady 115-grain Critical Defense, Hornady 124-grain XTP+P in the American Gunner series, and Hornady 147-grain XTP. This includes practice loads, light and heavy 9mm loads, and heavy loads.

The Glock 43X feeds, chambers, fires and fires every load without issue. When shooting at man-sized targets, the orange dot front sight was an aid for quick hits. In terms of sight adjustments, the pistol seemed dead on the money with the 115- to 124-grain loads, and the 147-grain loads were a bit overkill.

Gun Reviews By Women

For recoil, the Glock 43X is an enjoyable gun. The pistol is lighter and thinner than the Glock 19, so the recoil impulse is greater, but it is easier to shoot comfortably than the Glock 43. The 9mm just doesn't kick much, and the Glock 43X is a comfortable gun to shoot.

Combat accuracy is more practical, but absolute accuracy is always interesting. I shot the pistol from a standing barricade at 15 yards with the Hornady Critical Defense as well as Hornady 147-grain XTP—firing five rounds from each load. Both groups settled at just under two inches. The Glock 43X is accurate enough for any personal defense, reliable, lightweight, and a good choice for personal defense.

It was also adopted to honor the families of both the victims and the perpetrators. The pen is the same and the man remains a vocal advocate of using just enough guns for the job.
